Floyd Scott Travel Scholarship

The Floyd Scott travel scholarship was established at the 2024 annual meeting of THS in honor of the late Dr. Floyd Scott. Dr. Scott was a dedicated teacher and researcher at Austin Peay State University for most of his career. He was instrumental in nearly all research conducted on Tennessee's herpetofauna given his dedication to creating and maintaining the TN Reptile and Amphibian Atlases. The award is available for any student (undergraduate or graduate student) wishing to attend the annual THS meeting. Preference will be given to students giving an oral presentation, but poster presentations will be considered. Scholarship will be awarded to the student based on 1) abstract topic (Tennessee focus or at least applicable to Tennessee) 2) abstract content (how well the abstract is written) with preference given to oral presentations over poster.
